I found this to be a really great buy - I did a couple of treks from it at the weekend and both treks were awesome. The timings I found to be a bit ambitious but the author provides good details including, where needed, map references. You'll need to have the appropriate maps as well but that's generally the case. You also getting the odd interesting anecdote thrown in that makes it less of a dry read.

The book is compact, well structured and easy to follow and pretty much does what it says on the 'tin'. However, as expected with Lonely Planet (L.P.), a bit too many dodgy historical comments with a typically P.C. slant. This greatly annoys me to the point were I would advise L.P. to keep to the actual theme (i.e. Hiking in Ireland) and avoid to much historical and/or political opinion!
