4.0 out of 5 stars Good, honest guide, 15 Jun 2009

Excellent guide. Particulary good as the writers are either Canadian themselves or live in the areas reviewed, therefore their tips come from their own knowledge or experiences. I learnt a good bit on Canadian history before I went on my trip and had my list of places to tick off! The only negative I would point out is that the book does not contain many photos, especially as you are reading on in the book, which I was disappointed about as I like to visualise things before I see them.

2.0 out of 5 stars Not up the usual standard, 18 Dec 2003
By A Customer
If you are planning a trip to Canadian cities then this guide probably provides the information you require. If, on the other hand, you are visiting for the real draw of Canada, the magnificent scenery and outdoor sports opportunities then it is sadly lacking. There is virtually no coverage of the country, other than a few paying attractions. LPs occasionally slip into writing guidebooks by phoneing a lot of people and not actually visiting, that seems to be the case for most of Alberta and British Columbia.
As a devotee of LP I found this very disapointing, I would have gleened as much information from a good road atlas!

4.0 out of 5 stars Know where you are and what's going on, 10 Jun 2009
Good book with plenty of information about the areas and some interesting titbits that provide an added extra for those of you who like to know the ins and outs of a country and its culture. Nice pics at the front but the rest is text throughout. Useful and fits in back pack.
