More About the Author

I write contemporary romance and women's fiction/mom-lit. My stories often have a high heat index to match their American southwest settings. Known by my writing buddies as "Angst", I have a penchant for making my characters suffer. My novels may be tributes to the old saying, "No pain, no gain", but my Hero and Heroine always get the happily-ever-after they so deserve.

I love sunny days, hot bread, the ocean, and that fluttery feeling I get inside at the first spark of a great romance. In between being a wife, mom of two adolescents, and writer, I like to read, take morning walks, make people laugh (this probably happens when I break into a jog!), garden, and conquer the beast that is Sudoku. Working as a substitute teacher (Teacher Stunt Double) keeps me on my toes and makes me hope to become a very successful writer!

For me, an excellent book has characters you can sympathize with or hate (sometimes both at once), a story you simply must see through to the end, and realistic dialogue. Give me those key elements, and I'll read any genre or time period, any author.

4 1/2 Hearts from TRS! 8 Oct. 2009
By Tina Pavlik - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
"This was my first novel by Autumn Piper. I enjoyed her writing style and her characters. There was such conflict in the families that the plot was dynamic. It was a book I could not put down. The myriad of characters were diverse and helped to create the storyline. The sensuality was sizzling and covered both male/female and male/male situations."

"This book was fast-paced and moved constantly. There were no details overlooked. The conflicts between the Howells and the Days, as well as those of Kiersten and the friends of her previous husband, were suspenseful and dangerous. There was never a dull moment."

"I recommend this book to anyone who enjoys conflict and love together with suspense. I know you will enjoy this book. I intend to look for other works by this author." - 4 1/2 Hearts, Brenda Talley

One Great Read 19 Dec. 2009
By Anna Grace - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback
This story is a keeper. It's a true triumph over adversity, complete with a hotter than hot hero, a just as hot best friend, and a woman who keeps them all on their toes, giving as good as she gets.

Kiersten Day is a woman who's had to be tough to protect those she loves, and her family's legacy, not only from cattle baron CJ Howell, but someone else who's out to damage her reputation and her business. When she meet's Cleve, Howell's son, sparks start to fly.

And that's only the beginning of this tightly crafted tale, which brims with humor, heat, and just the right amount of suspense. Ms. Piper has created a cast of characters who will keep you entertained long into the night.

Lone Star Trouble 8 April 2010
By M. Nix - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback
Kiersten is not going to let some low down chauvinistic Texan take away her heritage no matter what it might cost her. She has given up her job and modern conveniences to be able to keep her family land. Too bad the gorgeous foreman, Cleve, next door is associated with the Howell family.

Cleve is stunned to meet the beauty next door. He is also stunned to find out the tactics that his father and his father's cohorts have taken to try and get the land that Kiersten owns. So when she mistakes him for a foreman and not a Howell he lets it go. But after at least one intimate encounter he knows he should have come clean. Now it might be too late for him to finally have something of his own.

Suddenly, Kiersten's tough fight is tougher now that she might be pregnant, danger appears to be closing in and she no longer knows who she can trust. I mean she has fallen in love with one of the despicable Howell's after all.

I found Lone Star Trouble a fun and fast paced Cowboy romance story, or is that Cowgirl romance? I love how Ms. Piper is able to show how some antiquated beliefs are still forced on others. I think the stage was set for a great western story with the background that Ms. Piper set in place. In fact, I hope to see many more stories from her. I think that Lone Star Trouble is a great read and that you too will enjoy it.

Fabulous Fun Read! 12 April 2011
By Mary Reilly - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback
I loved this story! This was the first Autumn Piper I've read, and I've since read Trouble Under Venus and Fallen Star Trouble. Great books!
Lone Star Trouble is fast paced and a totally fun, engaging read. Kiersten is a tough young woman with a heart of gold struggling to keep her sheep ranch going and make sure her grandad is taken care of when she meets Cleve, a Texas cattle rancher she thinks is a cowhand. Trouble finds her, and its big trouble. Despite trying her darndest, she falls hard for Cleve--and who wouldn't? He's the best!--and then she learns who he really is. The romance between them is hot! You'll laugh out loud, cry, and want to cheer Kiersten Day on.
Autumn Piper writes the best characters. They seem real, and you'll remember them long after you read the last word.
I highly recommend Lone Star Trouble!
