A great book full of intersting pictures of interesting locations. One or two detailed maps showing the names of all the junctions in the book would have definately earned this book five stars.

This is an enjoyable walk down long abandoned and long lost tracks, with some exceptions. For me it brought back memories of London in the fifties and sixties when I was a spotter. The East End was new territory to me, but what a rich surprise. Not just the railways, so fully described here, but also a way of life, now long gone, that added so much to the richness of that great city.
