Really nice to hear familiar songs that have been covered in unusual ways by different bands all from London. Los Desterrados Spanish style cover of Elvis Costello I don't want to go to Chelsea is excellent. Soothsayers bring Streets of London back to life with a slow reggae beat (I didn't think I wanted to ever hear that song again). AJ Holmes and the Hackney Empire are funky with A13 Trunk Road to the Sea, and Soho by Cigdem Aslan is very cool and moody. Lily Allen Ethiopian style? Stick it on in the background when your friends are round... they'll be surprised you've discovered such a great musical gem.
