The bulk of this second edition is the photos, which remain as compelling as ever. However, there is also an A-Z style map section which complements the pictures. A large slice of North London appears to have been omitted from this. The continuation page numbers at the edges of adjoining sheets take one to the wrong area and so do the index entries.

Another quibble is that the copyright notices at the front of the book state 1994 for both photos and words. This might be construed to mean that the photos were *taken* in 2004. They weren't. As an example, in the photo of Victoria Railway Station the old bus station structure can clearly be seen. This was demolished in 2002.
