If you are interested in history, and love maps, this is a a good book to get. There is a wide variety of maps, of the whole of London, and also smaller areas. Different eras of history are covered, and the maps support the facts. I am really enjoying reading the book and studying the maps.

very interesting but you will need a magnifying glass, heavy but good quality paper, plenty of detail, a must for a collector of London books

Bought as a present for a friend and he can't get enough of it - he is asking for a magnifying glass to see the detail, and is totally engrossed at every opportunity

This is totally absorbing - but of course most of the maps can be enjoyed only with a large magnifying glass. It is amazing to see the evolution of London, where I was born, and was a student, though Guernsey has always been my "home".
There has been layer upon layer of generations of populations.
