This book is it! 26 Aug 2011
By bike guy - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
I purchased this book a month before we left for London on August 12, 2011, and used it to set up my intinerary around the city for 7 days. It covers almost every small detail for someone needing to know what to see, what to skip, and how to get to the places you want to go. It even gives you the closest tube stops for those locations that you need, and the walking directions from when you leave the station to get to the location. We even used the restaurant recommendations mentioned in the book whenever we were in a particular area just to save time from having to guess where to pick up our next meal, and it saved us time and money, and the food was exactly how the author described it - very good! If you are traveling to London for the first time, or going there for the fifth time, I highly recommend this book. Don't waste your money buying a different one, because this IS IT! It's the best! One final note to travelers going to the UK for the first time - which isn't covered in London for Dummies; be aware that although the UK uses the standard European 220 voltage, the UK uses a different 3-prong plug that the mainland continent does not use. I recommend that you pick one up from a travel store before you leave, because you will need it for your computer, shaver, hairdryer, etc.

GREAT! 14 Aug 2010

This is by far the best London book I have read. This book gives ALL details and prices as well as alternate ways of getting to a particular attraction. My husband and I are planning a trip to London in 2 weeks and thanks to this book we have our own particular itenerary. I have checked out numorus London travel books from the library and liked this one so much that I had to purchase it to take along with us. This book also includes Stonehenge and how to get there! Many other London books do not talk about it since it is not in the city of London. I am over all impressed with this book. I highly recommend it to anyone planning a trip to London.
