Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
So much better graphics than any other olympic game I have played. Reallly good and available for up to 4 players. I just wish there was a game that had relays in them, and would have been good to have random events like field hockey or basketball & volleyball in. But it does have table tennis, diving, weight lifting, shooting, swimming, athletics & archery in.

All controls are easy to use and you don't have to remember complicated movements and controls. A really good game that gets you in the Olympic spirit. There is also a chance to hear some national anthems (shortened) when you get on the podium when playing the Olympic challenge. Would be nice for this to happen when you play on your own, and there is no opening or closing ceremonies. But is this why you bought the game?

I strongly recommend this game.

4.0 out of 5 stars Controller play is great, Kinect disappointing 28 July 2012
Platform for Display:Xbox 360|Edition:Limited Steelbook Edition
Fun: 4.0 out of 5 stars
Bought this game on the memory of the Athens 2004 Playstion game and was surprised at how similar it was in gameplay and format. Graphics are good - definitely not the best I've seen - but good enough to get a feel for the game and the atmosphere it tries to create.

Firstly, tried to Kinect part of the game. Only around 15 types to game to play, including cycling, running, hurdles and swimming, enough to keep you occupied for an hour or two, but doesn't feel like the 'full game'. Really struggled getting the Kinect to pick up different players (haven't had this issue with Kinect on other games), sometimes the runners wouldn't go as it wouldn't read the players' position properly. Archery was almost impossible as it just didn't see the player's backhand for firing. Gave it a good hour but this was just a bit too frustrating.

As a controller-played game, it was much better. Around 25/30 different games to play, all based on pressing buttons in the right places and getting timing right. Didn't seem to be presented with any medals, but was fun all the same. Had some issues with the left-stick movement on games such as high-jump, but maybe this will just take more practice.

Worth £35 max, but no more - not a game that will last beyond the Olympics' hype.

4.0 out of 5 stars Enjoyable 23 Feb 2013

If you enjoy the other Olympic games, you won't be disappointed. If you're new to it you may find the controls a little tricky. It's a great game for when there are four of you playing. I'd recommend it to most people.

Very good game and obviously has been thought about whilst making. The game is not about just bashing buttons but it does take a fair bit of skill to be very good. Read more

Very fun game, only problems are not all events are playable and no real athletes are in it, which is crazy because I don't know how they didn't get the rights.
