So far so good,

Just opened this funky little lomo and after seeing lots of negative reviews for it i looked over it just to make sure it was in good working order. Good news, it's fireing on all 8 lenses.
I can see why some people are haveing trouble with the film advance as it is a cheap bit of plastic and needs to be treated as such. All things being equal you should get on well with this creative little camera as long as you play nice and watch out for the advance lever.

I love my Lomo Oktomat because it makes for the sweetest and funniest photos I have ever taken. Sure, sometimes it takes me a while to order new film for it, so I really am careful not to waste my photos on everything (I guess that is a bit of a negative impulse of mine, since the whole concept of Lomo is to just go wild and snap photos as often as you would with a digital camera).
I sometimes give the photos to my friends (well, the ones who are in them, obviously) and they really are the best gifts. Most of them stick them on their doors or walls and always get asked how they made them or where they have them from. Another thing I love about the Oktomat is that the colours are very strong and vibrant and the photos come out like little works of art. Even though digital photography gives you the freedom to erase and edit the photos later, the feeling of analogue photos is unique. I guess the constraint really helps you take good photos in a way, since you put a bit more effort into it. However, the only slight problem I had at first was putting the film in, since the design of the product is not really its best feature. But after several attempts and some help from a friend who had her own Lomo, all was well. I do see how that could be frustrating though. All in all a great companion for memorable and quirky images!

Great when it works,

This has only worked once and now the film doesn't wind on - the spool doesn't seem to be strong enough to pull it through. Apparently this is a common problem & it's such a shame because my first roll of film was amazing!!
