My 10-year-old daughter has lots of questions about growing up (social life, what to wear, make-up, physical changes etc etc) and after we borrowed this book from the library she really wanted her own copy. She reads bits of it and has also read it straight through. It contains sensible advice, a bit like an agony aunt, but there is no preaching or criticism, and the tone encourages independence from peer pressure and social responsibility, as well as encouraging girls to have the self-confidence to make their own decisions. As an adult I find it a bit hyper in style but it certainly appeals to my daughter! I think it will be dipped into in the future at different times on different issues.
