Genuine Plug&Play. Plugged headset into USB, was instantly detected by Windows XP, no software installation required, it just worked. This is how it should be.Headset is light, adjustable and comfortable, sound is good and distortion-free, though for the size and price obviously not as rich as (larger and more expensive) hi-fi headphones. This inexpensive model might not have inline (stuck on the cable) volume control or a mute switch, but these features plus balance adjustment can be done from your PC's speaker control window. I've been using mine with Skype (very cheap or free internet telephone, look for it on the web especially if you need to dial abroad, very easy to install and use) and it works fine -- at least from the point of view of my receiving (i.e. the headphones work). To test the microphone, my wife phoned me using the headset, and I picked up her voice perfectly well on a land line. So there you have it, reasonable price, hassle-free and quick installation, adjusts to head nicely and functions very well (perhaps taking into account size and price). It's so rare these days that I get the satisfying experience of plug and go (what a friendly piece of kit!), that I've got to give this one a five.
