Without doubt this is probably one of the best mouse I have tried.
The various buttons are well positioned and fall nicely within reach of my thumb / finger. The usual left and right click buttons are present together with the scroll wheel which can be used as a third button. To the left of the scroll wheel are two buttons which are used as volume controls for your music player together with a further two buttons, just above where you would place your thumb, that are user configurable. The options available as to what actions each button can be assigned are very good and you really can customize it to suit your needs
The laser tracking is very good and seems to work on most surfaces. The mouse itself is white / silver so it matches nicely with the current range of Apple computers.
Not too sure if the mouse can be bought separately, if so, then it would certainly be worth considering if you need a replacement or spare mouse but have no need for a further keyboard.
And so onto the keyboard. The first thing that I noticed once I took it out of its' packaging was just how slim it is. It matches the mouse in color being all white with a silver wrist rest.
Like the mouse, it has a good selection of buttons that can be configured to suit your needs and to be honest your needs will need to be plentiful as, apart from the extra buttons, the F1-F13 buttons can also be separately configured. The keys have a solid feel to them and overall the keyboard compliments the mouse nicely. Having said that there are a couple of minor things that I wasn't too keen on. The first thing is that I would prefer the tilt adjustment at the back of keyboard to be able to tilt the keyboard slightly more towards the user. It's a personal thing I know but for me the keyboard sits just a little too flush with the surface it's sitting on. The second thing is that there are no lights to indicate that the caps lock / number lock are on.
Both the mouse and keyboard have a good wireless range and are easily picked up by the supplied USB mini receiver. The receiver can be placed in a spare port on your Mac or alternatively you can place it in the supplied desktop holder. Overall the S530 is a very good piece of kit and worth looking at if your after a matching cordless keyboard and mouse setup.
