I've been using this mouse for a couple of days now and I really like it. I wanted a wired laser mouse for my laptop so that I can stop taking my Logitech MX1000 plus receiver/charger base unit with me, which is obviously much less portable.
This model doesn't feature an Application Switch button like my old one, but otherwise performs in exactly the same way. It's smaller, very light and glides over surfaces well. The cord is a decent length, though I haven't felt it necessary to undo the cable tie on it yet - sufficient in length while bundled up. The horizontal scrolling is nice to have, but I'm sure only very few people use it; I hold down the space-bar and left click in my design programs to move around, and web pages hardly ever require horizontal scrolling. My only niggle so far is that the right mouse button is very easy to click by accident, and it happens very frequently when I'm just resting my finger on it. This has caused me to lose a few plasma grenades on Halo PC, and keeps bringing up right-click menus in applications. However I'm sure I'll soon get used to this, and I'll learn in time to adopt a different grip to avoid this. Great value at the time of purchase, too. Optical mice are becoming obsolete, I hope people realise they should spend a couple more pounds to get a product that will work on almost any surface with incredible accuracy, such as laser mice offer.
