MX 500 - by far the best gaming mouse,

I moved to this mouse after using a cordless logitech mouseman which i had been using for about 2 years. The reason was that i was getting a slight cursor lag in games and noticed that sometimes even if i had my cross hairs over someone the accuracy wasn't 100%. Well just been on Medal of Honor with this and I have to say its awesome. Pinpoint accuracy and totally smooth action on movement. This is the mouse i have been waiting for. As for the problems in past with drivers to get the buttons working in games. Well downloaded mouseware 9.79 and all buttons i have setup work. You just assign a button to keypress and press the key you want. At last logitech have remembered us gamers.I couldn't recommend this mouse enough. If you are a gamer get this and not the cordless mx700. You won't regret it

Having been a user of Logitech mice for the past six years, Logitech has always been my first port of call for mouse replacements. I change mouse approximately once a year, usually upgrading around the same time Logitech releases something new and fresh. The MX line represents this completely; new, fresh, gorgeous, aesthetic and cutting edge.I've been using the MX 500 for the past year and have very little negative to say about it. The mouse fits the natural contours of your hand perfectly (providing you're right handed), and the many buttons staggered over the surface are all extremely accessible. Most of them exactly where the hand falls for ease of use, providing great functinality. The back/forth navigation buttons are excellent, working in Windows and most browsers flawlessly. For Windows users I would highly recommend this mouse without reservation. Mac OS X users will be happy with the performance of the Logitech MX 500. Everything works as it should do, with the exception of the back/forth buttons in anything other than Internet browsers; they cannot be used to navigate back/forth elsewhere. This is a minor quibble though; once you start using them for browsing you wonder how you ever did without them! Logitech has always been somewhat committed to the Mac platform and can be relied on for driver upgrades and compatability. The precision is fantastic, with the newer optical technology reading your movements in a way most optical mice can only dream of. Top that off with the weight of the mouse (not too heavy, not too light) and you've got yourself the perfect corded rodent. Highly recommended mouse for those of us who prefer corded mice. If you're interested in cordless check out the MX 700 (Mac & PC) or the new MX 900 (PC only).

This is easily the best mouse I've ever used.I know some Amazon game-playing reviewers don't rate it highly. However, as a non-game-playing user who spends 10+ hours a day at the computer, I find it the most comfortable mouse I've ever used, and the most reliably and accurately responsive. No more wrist strain. No more problems with the cursor not moving when you move the mouse. Fantastic.
