Firstly, if you've bought one of these and intend to use it properly, leave your other remote controls in a drawer and forget about them. The Harmony has a memory of what state it believes your devices are in (which is why it asks you if all your devices are "off" once it's first configured) so if you're powering your TV on using a power toggle button on your TV's remote and then you press the Watch DVD Activity on your Harmony, the Harmony is very likely to turn your TV off, believing that it has in fact turned it on. The lesson here is to use only the Harmony to control your devices.
There are two ways to configure the remote, the easiest and most pain free way is to use the website as recommended on the getting started guide. You can configure a lot using the web interface and be up and running in probably half an hour or less.
If you want complete control, you'll need to get yourself the Harmony Remote software which is available from the Logitech website which offers all the same options as the web interface but allows you finer control over things like the device power up order or additional commands to send during an Activity. The remote software IS harder to use but if you're a power user or need to perform some additional finer controlled tweaking, it's the best option. I've set mine to pause Sky TV after the power up of my TV, Sky+HD box and AV Receiver and input switching has been completed - works like a charm.
I read another review about the removal of the Red, Yellow, Green and Blue buttons from the remote. Yes, they have been removed but these can be placed on the touch screen and if configured with the Harmony Remote Software, the buttons have been given the colour and are on the main screen for the Activity - I don't struggle to press Red when I need to!
All in all, it's a highly recommended device if you've got 2 or more remotes. No regrets here.

I have just bought one of these, never having had a universal remote before and I can't believe how good it is.
The setup was so simple! It now controls my TV, Blu ray player, V+ box, AV receiver, X box and my Mac when I run it through the TV.
I was originally put off by the price tag (£120 "just for a remote control") but now I have it, I could not go without it.

Before buying this remote I had bought a 4-in-1 remote and found that although it controlled my TV, hard disk recorder and DVD there were buttons that it could not mimic so I needed to keep all my remotes to hand. Since getting the Logitech Harmony One I have consigned ALL my remotes to a drawer. It controls all the required functions for all the above plus my Apple TV and WD TV. The touch display can be reprogrammed to have all the main functions of a device on the first page so that you don't need to keep going through multiple pages. I had to manually program two buttons for my HDR but this was easily done using the learn function.
The PC application makes the setting up and changing of the touch display straight forward and once done, connect the remote to a USB port and the remote control is updated.
The only down side is when moving things around on the touch display you move them one line at a time so for example if something is on line 4 page 4 you have to move it to line 3, then line 2, then line 1 then line 6 on page 3 etc. However this is such a minor detail and once done does not need doing again.
The PC application makes the setting up and changing of the touch display straight forward and once done, connect the remote to a USB port and the remote control is updated.
