5.0 out of 5 stars The Logitech Driving Force GT 29 Oct 2009
Verified Purchase
Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
Okay, now as you might know Logitech is one of the leading manufacturers of computer hardware and steering wheels, and to be honest with you, they have made the best steering wheel I have ever used. I have heard that the Logitech G25 is very good but I couldn't Imagen it to be much better than this.

The Logitech Driving Force GT provides a strong and realistic experience for all players. Personally after you have got used to the wheel you notice it becomes easier and lighter to use (If not just change the settings on the game).

The way the wheel turns is strong and firm, also I love the way the wheel adapts to different road surfaces and terrain. E.g. in Colin McRae: DIRT 2 the wheel is very shaky and aggressive due to the rough road conditions, like bumps and dips.

For the pedals, although they're made from plastic, they are pretty lifelike and strong. You will notice the brake has more resistance than the accelerator and apart from there being no clutch the pedals do a very good job and work very well.

The pros of this product are:
- The force feedback
- Steering wheel size (11 inches)
- Button access
- Vibration
- Mounting access
- 900 degrees of wheel rotation
- Works well with The PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 2
- Official Gran Turismo 5 product

The cons:
- Sequential gear change (No six speed)
- No clutch

Very good games to use with the Logitech Driving Force GT:
- Need For Speed Shift (PS3)
- Gran Turismo 5 Prorogue (PS3) (The Official Gran Turismo 5 still awaiting release date)
- Gran Turismo 4 (PS2)
- Race Driver GRID (PS3)
- Colin McRae: DIRT 2 (PS3)

4.0 out of 5 stars Gr8 Wheel 26 Dec 2010
By ivo
Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
I have to say that this is my first time playing with a wheel, but i can feel that this wheel is very good..
I bought it with the new GT5, and my main worries are the force feedback, and the pedals..
The wheel have plenty of force feedback, i think that sometimes it have to much, i always put it in 1 or 2, but you can regulate until 10, and the pedals my main worries were because i know little of wheels i thought that maybe when i put my feet they dont have force and go straight down, but they feel like a pedal of a car....
So i give 09 out of 10, just because the pedals are made of plastic, but i have to say its a very hard plastic.....

Sorry i cant explain my self so good, my english is a bit bad, i wish its better to explain more about this good and well made product...

I wish all a GR8 year full of health, joy and money in our pockets....;)

Regards from portugal...

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Product and Amazing feedback 12 Oct 2010
Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
Intro:

I have purchased the Force GT a month ago, in view of the forthcoming release of GT5.
As I'm a young daddy (36yrs old = old generation gamer), with very limited time on my hands, I have not played a lot 9compared to a real gamer), but still managed to log in, around 10 hours, on GT5 prologue, Dirt 2 and F1 2010.
Forgot to mention this is my 1st wheel, so don't have previous experience to compare.

Impressions:

The feedback on GT5 Prol. and Dirt 2 is amazing, and if you have a nice set up (sitting position + fixation of wheel + pedals) then the gaming experience is excellent, and you almost feel like being in the real thing. The wheel's feedback is extremely realistic, and you feel the slightest bump and curb on the track, as well as the "loosening" of the car at very high speeds.

I still have not played around with settings in the games, but I'm extremely satisfied with the original settings.

The price is very good for what you are getting, and I highly recommend this product to any Race gamer.

Enjoy

5.0 out of 5 stars trully realistic 25 Feb 2010
Fun: 4.0 out of 5 stars
Wow, how realistic is that! I'll be honest I'm not a 'gamer' but I was given a PS3slim for Xmas, it came with Need for Speed and I just could not get one with the remote so I bought this and I am hooked, properly hooked. I really could not belive how realistic it feels.

It's a quality bit of kit, it's chuncky, the plastics are solid and well put together, it kind of feels right and the you turn it on and the motor kicks in. Switch the game view to driver view and your behind the wheel with roughly the same field of view as a car. Race starts and the wheel starts to judder as you leave the line, take it in the first turn and you start to feel the weight increase, pull into the apex tight and the wheel fights in your hands at the car searches for grip, layoff the gas a bit and traction returns, flip the wheel tight in and the out, hit the gas, hold the apex, the back pops round, then the wheel spins back to centre and your set for the next turn... AWESOME...

My title may seem a little snobby so let me explain;

The Logitech Driving Force GT is one of Logitech's budget racing wheels and boy does it do it's job!
I'm going to try and cover each part of the wheel in segments for easier reading. :)

#1 The Wheel: The 11" wheel is made out of a strong plastic of sorts, it feels incredibly sturdy and unlikely to break any time soon if even under the most messy of racers. (Such as myself) The Left and Right side of the wheel have a rubber like patch to them which allows a firm grip to be maintained whilst in use. So all in all the wheel gets 5/5 stars! - amazing

#2 The Shifter: Not much to say about the Shifter, it's only a sequential so you can't expect a great deal, and my opinion is the main let down in the whole package. It's joined in with the base of the wheel casing so it can't be moved to allow Left or Right hand shifters. (Me living in the UK I prefer to use a left hand shifter) The stick itself on my wheel was a little loose, it did often wobble from side to side while in the middle of races ect. This may just have been a faulty model and I got unlucky I'm not sure. So all in all the shifter only get's a 3/5 starts - it does it's job.

#3 The wheel base: The base is made out of another sturdy form of plastic and is what contains the single motor for powering the Force Feedback. On the bottom of the casing are the 2 adjustable clamps for mounting to a desk or racing rig of some kind they give a decent amount of grip although it may be best to use some kind of rubber mat to keep it from slipping if you are a rough racer. Quick note on the clamps, they are stupidly easy to use they require nothing but your bare hands.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good steering wheel controller, but G25 feels much better
It is a good controller, but once you play with G25, you will immediately notice G25 is better. G25 has much less friction, and also the pedal set is much more solid. Read more
