Product Description

Logitech Z323 Speaker System

Transport yourself into your music, films and games with the Z323 Logitech Speaker System. Logitech's surround sound system broadcasts the sound equally in all directions, providing an acoustic experience throughout the room. You can hear the clear, distinct sound wherever you are in the room, throughout the entire frequency spectrum. The down-firing subwoofer with bass reflex tube brings music, films and games to life with its heavy bass, while the 2 satellite speakers produce rich mid-range and crystal-clear high-end tones.

Thanks to a stereo cinch and additional 3.5 mm connection, you can easily connect a Logitech network music player, games console, DVD player or iPod to the speaker system. A headphone port lets you enjoy your listening experience without being disturbed at any time. And with 30 watts (RMS) of power, you'll have everything you need to create big, bold sound that puts you in the moment.

Logitech Z323 2.1 PC speaker system
Enjoy an All-Round and Intense Music, Film and Gaming Experience

Good sound is more than just loud, it casts a spell over you. Whether you're having an impromptu party, organising a marathon film night or completing a solo gaming session -- with surround sound, the Z323 Speaker System puts you right at the heart of the music, scene or action.

Your Logitech Speaker System broadcasts the sound equally in all directions throughout the room. To really immerse yourself in the music, you need deep, low bass that you can actually feel. The practical ports for easily connecting other devices, such as your iPod or DVD player, guarantee your audio enjoyment will be trouble-free. When it's time to party, the 30-watt system helps ensure all your guests rock out to your music.

Hear Everything -- in Every Corner of the Room

Most desktop speaker systems concentrate all the sound in just 1 direction. If you sit in the sweet spot directly in front of the speakers, the sound is great. But as soon as you leave this confined area, your music sounds thinner. The amazing keyboard solo sounds a bit muffled, that rock 'n' roll guitar riff sinks under a mush of sound.

Logitech solves this problem with surround sound technology. Unlike conventional speaker systems, which only work with 1 speaker pointing forwards, the acoustic design of the Logitech Speaker System emits sound both forwards and backwards. The sound is released and reflected more equally and over a broader area. Your whole room becomes a sweet spot with a clear, detailed and balanced sound -- even if you're standing behind the speakers.

Additional Ports for Easily Connecting Your Entertainment Device

Do you have other devices that could do with upgrading to surround sound? Go for it. Plug in your Logitech network music player, gaming console, iPod or DVD player. Thanks to the cinch jacks and additional 3.5 mm port, you can turn your speaker system into an entertainment centre in a matter of moments.

Integrated Headphone Jack

If you want to listen to your music without being disturbed, simply connect your headphones to the integrated port.

Down-Firing Subwoofer with Bass Reflex Tube Provides Rich, Deep Bass

When you want to feel the full force of the explosion in your favourite action film, or the underlying bass rhythm of a classic by your favourite artist, that's when the bass comes into its own. The Z323 Speaker System has a strong, rich bass. The additional bass reflex tube and downfiring design of the subwoofer, produce the robust, full bass that bring your music, films and games to life.

30-Watt Power Rocks the Room

Crank it up to full volume -- with 30-watt power you can hear your music anywhere in the room. No matter what part of the room you're in, you'll hear every line, every keyboard chord and every clash of the cymbals with crystal-clear definition.

I did a lot of research before purchasing these speakers. I was tempted by the Logitech LS21 because of the price (my friend has them and I know that they are extremely good value for money) but since it was my birthday I thought I would spend a bit more and I was not disappointed. The sound is very clear and they can make a huge amount of noise. One warning would be that the bass can be very loud - stuff rattles in the room when the subwoofer is on max - but it is perfect for normal listening and can be turned off completely if you are worried about noise complaints etc.
Overall I would thoroughly recommend these speakers, excellent for a cheap to mid range purchase

For the price, these speakers are a bargain.

Features: Design is a 2.1 (2 desktop speakers + 1 bass/subwoofer). The addition of a input socket on the speaker to connect an MP3 headphone socket (3.5mm, no lead supplied) connection is a nice touch. Additionally, you get the 2 x RCA phone sockets on the subwoofer for external audio input. Volume level on subwoofer (on top of the overall volume level) helps control the likelihood of a 'boom, boom, boom' type situation, and the degree to how far the bass sound travels around the house!

Wiring is simple - mains to subwoofer, one lead from subwoofer to each desktop speaker. The subwoofer is downward firing (doesn't matter bass sound is omnidirectional), and its ported (has a hole at the front to improve the movement of the air / increase the bass - put your hand in front to feel the air moving). The 2 desktop speakers have similar ports on each speaker.

One word of caution, these ports will be nice places for 'little-ones' to use, so beware. Also, the speaker drivers themselves don't have any kind of grills/covers, so again little fingers could easily mess with the drivers and damage them - the drivers are mainly made of stiff paper; that's how most speakers work!

The desktop speakers have a rear firing speaker, in addition to the front speaker driver and the port at the front. Therefore, be careful with positioning - they need to be against a wall/flat surface to reflect the sound out to the front be heard at their best - but most people would position them in this way.

Soundwise: very good for the price, there is a definite 'sweet spot' for the best treble to be heard, but due to the design, this would be in a good position for normal use in front of speakers viewing/gaming.

Oh wow.

I bought these because they were on sale for £25 on the pick of the day sale. I wasn't expecting much but my Edifier speakers (which were around 5x as much) had recently broken. Initially i was looking to buy either a Logitech z623, Corsair sp2500 or Klipsch pro media 2.1 set, however due to new whiny neighbors moving in who complain about the slightest bit of bass (Interesting how my previous neighbor who lived next to me for 12 years didn't ever mention a thing, and i played it far louder back then too) i decided there would be no point and buy a cheap and cheerful set for general use and such.

When i unpackaged it the first thing i noticed was how small the sub was, it was around 1/3 of the size of my edifier sub and i really didn't expect much to come out of it. The satelites however are actually rather large and quite smart looking.

When i hooked it up i was genuinely shocked at the sound, and mainly the bass, the bass these speakers provide despite the size of the sub outdid my old edifier setup which was far more expensive and had a much, much larger sub.

So all in all i'm very pleased and honestly quite surprised with my purchase, although now i do wonder how good the bass on the more expensive z623's must sound like since the sub on that set up is colossal.

Also general warning, edifier's customer service is terrible, i emailed them a week after they were meant to have sent me the replacement and they completely ignore me now. I've sent them around 8 more emails and they've ignored every single one now and wont reply. Top notch stuff!

This product is fabulous. It is so powerful that I never tried the higher volume and I have music in my entire room. And for the value I really recommend it.

Cheap speakers, cheaply made.

I got these on a lightning deal after looking at the amazon.co.uk reviews. After purchasing, I noticed that for some reason the reviews at amazon.com are worse. And rightly so I'm afraid. As soon as I plugged them in, I noticed a couple of problems, related to cheap manufacturing quality.

Problem 1
First thing to notice was a constant hum, even at low volume. It does not go away unless you switch off the speakers. Logitech support in forums suggests this problem is caused by interference from the electricity network and suggests plugging into other outlets. I tried this, but it did not really help. Decent speakers have capacitors that filter interference, but it seems Logitech omitted them to save cost. So be prepared to spend another £30 on a power filter...

Problem 2
Second, when I tried to gently unplug the speaker cable from the back of the woofer, the pin broke off. I had to repair the cheaply made pin myself.

Sound quality
If you turn up the volume so that the buzz is not so noticeable, the sound quality is not too bad. If you tune the bass response properly, it is almost decent for the price. However, as another reviewer pointed out, audio quality does not compare to Logitech x230. The Z323 sounds beefy, but not rich and deep as the Logitech X230. In fact, some percussion instruments (e.g. in Metallica-Fade to Black) sound ridiculously bad with Z323, as if coming from the cheapest little radio.

In conclusion, this is not the quality I expected from Logitech. Too many corners are being cut to save cost. It is a pity that the Logitech x230 was discontinued, they sounded amazing and they were not cheaply made, although their price was the same as Z323.
