This is the best mouse I have ever owned, and I have owned a lot of mice. I am a gamer but I also use this for just general surfing and productivity tasks on the PC.

The customisation options are astonishing, but that's not really the point - just using it as a plug and play mouse out-of-the-box is a joy. The "wide" grip fits my hand really well and the mouse just glides and moves very easily. I find all the buttons are located perfectly, I have no problems with the ergonomics at all.

If you want the Rolls-Royce of mice, buy this.

Mouse perfection 1 Jan 2010
By E. Lam
Smooth glide, perfect grip, everything you could want from a gaming mouse. The smooth scroll wheel option is amazing and incredibly useful for surfing web pages quickly combined with Firefox addon smoothwheel/smoothscroll.

I found a slight incompatibility issue with the Razer Exactmat Speed side, however works fine just a little too much friction, oddly. Control side works much better. I have used the Deathadder, MX518, and IME 3.0 and this is the mouse I prefer for gaming.

I do believe 5700 dpi makes a difference; I have set it to 5700dpi, 6/11 windows sensitivity, and 1 notch of logitech Setpoint sensitivity. Smooth, accurate, fits perfect, the material of the grips feels great quality, great response due to 1000Hz polling rate. A little expensive but worth it. My last 2 razer mice have broken randomly and I have also recieved a faulty Lycosa keyboard, I think I will be sticking with Logitech from now on.

I also love the mouse cord, its kind of 'braided' into a solid mesh that doesn't tangle with anything and doesn't give the mouse any friction or drag along the table when being used. Everything feels sturdy about it, and the adjustable weights are cool, though for gaming you might want to keep the mouse as light as possible, up to you really.

Perfection.

I never really bought an expensive mouse before, but lately i had been playing a lot of PC games and felt I needed something better. After much thought, I decided to buy this G9x laser mouse, and it's exactly what I wanted, and much more.

It's confortable, has 2 types of grips you can just clip on, one using a more dry surface if you like things that way. The buttons are all accessible even for bigger hands since the main buttons reach the "end" of the mouse (unlike some others). It has 2 side buttons you can use with your thumb, which is great for games since you can now use an extra finger that was pretty useless before, that's always handy. The scroll wheel is also very good, with 2 different ways to use it, a sort of fast spin mode you can use to quickly scroll down a document or web page, the other is a clicking type of scroll more useful for gaming (such as switching weapons in an FPS).

That's for the basic functions of this mouse, but it does far more than this. You can use it in it's most basic way simply by plugging it in a USB slot on your computer, it should install by itself very quickly via plug n' play. But the advanced functions are to be installed via the CD that comes with the mouse, and here you get lots of options. You can creat different profiles for your mouse, where you can edit:
- button properties (aside from the left click, you can change all the button's uses)
- the different mouse speeds available for that profile (you can switch between a different set of dpi by pressing the + and - buttons on the mouse)
- your scrolling preferances.

Each profile can be switched any time manually, or if you want you can have certain programs activate a certain profile. For example, if you want to have your mouse set to function a certain way for a certain game you play, it'll automatically go to this profile when launching the game. Each profile can have a different led color so it's easy to see which one is which if you remember them. These profiles can be stored on your mouse or on your computer, if they are on the mouse, you should be able to keep them for future use no matter what computer you use your mouse on.

The mouse also has a set of extra weights you can add in, up to a maximum of 28g, so if you like having your mouse feel a little heavier, you can.

Well, that's about it. The only thing I can't talk about yet is wether this mouse will work well in the long run, for now i can't tell but it looks quite strudy enough, only time will tell i guess. The price put me off at 1st, but this is the best mouse I ever had and I am very happy with the purchase, I only hope i'll be able still use it correctly in a few years from now. This is THE mouse you need for gaming, it's good for everything else too but not really necessary, but for games, it works great, you won't want to go back to a traditional mouse after this one.
