Verified Purchase
Was looking for an external Speaker System for my recently purchased 60 GB iPod. I liked the look, style and sound of the Bose System (and would have paid the price) but the Bose is not portable...works via a transformer and mains electricity.
I wanted a portable sytem that I could listen to whilst in the bath or other rooms within the house. I saw the Logic 3 i-Station in an electrical shop but was not too keen on the look and size. I thought the sound reproduction would be poor. However, I read some Reviews on this page and decided to take a chance and make a purchase.
I think the Logic 3 is a First Class Sound System. The Sound reproduction and volume is just fine. It will charge the fitted iPod whilst it is playing (when plugged into the mains) and when unplugged the battery life of the Logic3 player is very very good. I like the perspex speaker protector for travel and overall neat appearance of the system. A cloth bag would have been a useful addition for travel.
I liked the product so much I purchased another for my son who also shares my enthusiasm. In my opinion, this is a resonable priced, attractive to look at (same plastic colour as the iPod) has good sound reproduction and a worthwhile purchase. Be careful when you pick it up though, if you were clumsy you may damage the speaker. Once you learn where to place your fingers when moving it you will be fine.
Buy the product, I am a miserable old git who is normally hard to please but I am pleased with the Logic 3. Mr Bob Beaver of Northallerton says it is good value and should fulfil your needs for a portable iPod sound system.

What a good deal! At first i was unsure of which speakers to buy for my iPOD, save up and buy the expensive Bose and get quality sound or go for the budget ones and get enough to survive.
Well the Logic 3 I-Station is priced low with v.good quality output. The two small speakers provide good quality music and the base speaker provides the rest.
The speakers also act as a docking station and charger, so no more finding the cable to update your iPOD - just plug it in. The box includes holders for different size iPODs as well as a generic holder for other manufacturers with cables provided for connecting.
The speakers fold away neatly and the cover(plastic) protects the speakers during transportation. The battery use is limited to how loud you want to play it without mains, but with a european plug included - why use the batterys?
The speakers also come with two blue LED's which light up the iPOD, pleasent at night.
As can be expected the case and iPOD will shake the louder you get, but as long as you have genuine music (from CD or download) then the quality and base shouldn't effect it too much.
A very good purchase for the money, i would recommend this for anyone on a budget or not.

I had a demo recently of a top-end iPod speaker solution from a Famous Manufacturer with a four-letter name, which carries what may also be charitably described as a 'four-letter price tag'. This product rivals it in terms of sound quality, beats it in terms of utility, and pummels it into the ground in terms of price.
The iStation is astonishingly light, stylish, and versatile. The surround processor is a revelation, the input options are comprehensive, and the array of cabling which is generously bundled with the unit is a real bonus. The ability to power the unit with AA batteries where no power supply is available is a great idea too. Add to this the fact that the dock recharges your iPod into the bargain, and I'm struggling to think what else you'd want a pair of external speakers to do. Don't concern yourself re. changing the base plate to the one which corresponds to your model -- it's a doddle, somehow managing to be easy to prise out, yet solid as a rock when fitted at the same time.
Good looks and functionality aside, the sound this unit cranks out is clear, balanced, and surprisingly loud, and I'd recommend it on this basis alone.
It you own an iPod and are looking to fill a hotel room, study or bedroom with your music, look no further. There are legions of folk whose main stereo will sound worse than this, believe me.
Buy it and enjoy it.

It looks great (although it helps that I have a white iPod). It is lightweight (very light) and compact; ideal for travelling. For transport and storage the central sub-woofer sits between the two speakers, in use the sub-woofer is folded down providing a solid base and exposing the iPod connector.
A great feature is that the station recharges the iPod (again, fantastic if you are travelling or on holiday and do not want to bring a laptop) and for further convenience UK and European power cables are also provided.
A number of different trays are providing to accommodate the different models of iPod - it is relatively easy to change trays although a sharp implement is required.
The sound is good, much better than I had expected and although it does not match the quality of a good stereo system it is more than acceptable for the office and travelling.
You can also use the station for synchronising your iPod (via FireWire or USB - cables provided) and you can play other devices through the speakers.
All in all, it is a fantastic product. Recommended
