This has to be the most beatifull dutch oven available made in seasoned cast iron. The steel handles and design of the dutch oven looks very sophistocated and, contrary to most seasoned iron cast dutch ovens, this one will fit with the most in-fashion kitchen. But the reason why we bought it was because we wanted a cast iron dutch oven without enamel. This casserole will leach iron into your diet and will save you from taking iron pills. It is extreamlly well made in the United States (not China). It comes seasoned from factory, so you don't need to season it before cooking. It is really very thick. Thicker than the two Staub enameled dutch oven we have.

This pan is simply magnificent. Nothing else to say really. Stop wasting your money on Teflon junk and save up for one of these. It's a million miles ahead of the enamelled sort too.

I've had this dutch oven for a while now and absolutely love it. It's beautiful and functional. If you take care of it after each use (don't soak in water or use soap) it will last many lifetimes. I will definitely be buying the other Lodge Signature Series items to complete the set.

I have been cooking for many years with all different cookware. This one is by far my favorite! I will be buying other pieces as I can afford them. The Signature series is more costly than regular Cast cookware, but the superior quality makes them well worth the price difference!
