Charming and full of heat, this was another wonderful medical romance by the author. The author stunningly messed the lives up between the small town Dr. Gemma and the to die for city cop Marc!
Gemma can feel and sense the heat and passion behind Marc's eyes and she can tell they are meant to be more than just small town friends. But Marc is like all men "I loved and lost before so my heart is locked to the female emotional side".
This is where the author really made the book kick. The feelings and emotions behind Marc's locked away heart surfacing really had me trying to get inside his head and I loved trying to figure out just exactly what is was that the author would do next to bring Gemma and Marc together.
I loved how this book was set in a small town where everyone knows everything about everyone and it felt like the whole town was one big family.
The added epilogue at the end also gave me a better ending than most other books in the romance world that seem to just end with problem solved, equals couple back together, equals happy ending. It gave me that little bit extra of what the future holds for the couple that I so many times look for in a book and never seem to find and instead one ends up using your imagination as to what happened onwards from the final page.
The flirtations between the characters was all heat and fire, the dialogue was fun, fresh and had that something special about it that is hard to describe. The story was not overwritten and the author gets to the point fast and brings the message of the book home with a powerful rush of emotions. The way the author shows us how Gemma helps Marc's heart to be free from it's icy frozen cage made for a real kicker of a read.
