We loved this movie. We are going on holiday to Scotland and thought it would be a good idea to get a taste for the area that we are going to. The scenery in the film is superb and we have watched the film a couple of times since obtaining it. Its the kind of film you never tire of.

Of course the Loch Ness Monster story is a good one to adapt to a movie and you are pulled along with curiosity throughout the film - so wanting, really, for a monster to be found and of course the viewer is not disappointed.

We brought the video, mainly to find out more about the location, but we were touched by the storyline and its characters. The only sad thing is that most of the Scottish characters who take part in the movie are initially cast in a rather stony image and my experiences of Scottish hospitality prove this to be an inaccurate portrayal of the nations people...

Overall, we loved this movie and recommend you watch it soon....But beware Nessy is out there somewhere!!!

Loch Ness- no guessing what its about!
And yet, this is another film that I keep re-watching- there is a delightful sense of tongue in cheek about this, the story is of the classic myth- the ancient sea creature alive in Loch Ness- and yet it has an innocent charm that you just wish could be true.
I like this sort of film. Think lots of us do, if we could just be more truthful. A 4 star film- not quite excellent, but very good al;l the same.

I used to have a video of this as I always loved Ted Danson in Cheers and I'm Scottish - so despite the mixed reviews I wanted a copy. Oh and it was cheap.

Like the Monster of the Loch this film is a wonderful secret. It's not Lawrence of Arabia but it is a gentle comedy which stirs the emotions. A wonderful cast, terrific use of location (Scotch Mist not sunny beaches), great script & a stirring finale. If you like Cheers & Local Hero then this is your film. If you have children aged between five and ten then this is ideal Rainy Sunday entertainment.

Similar to another lost classic, Fairytale, about the Yorkshire girls who photographed Fairies. That had Harvey Keitel and Peter O Toole and still went missing. I'm so pleased this is being released so I can show my seven year old daughter that Scotland is the land of monsters as well as Peter Pan (Finding Neverland) Treasure Island (Disney et al) as well as Harry Potter. I'll wait a few years before I tell her about Dr.Jekyll and Mr.Hyde
