I bought this to grind spices. Last weekend a friend and I were cooking and needed some ground star anise - large, hard pointy stuff. It took us ages (and a lot of hard work, even taking turns) with a mortar and pestle to grind just 2. Tonight, I used my newly arrived grinder and pulverised about 12 star anise in 20 seconds. Brilliant. The gadget is great and also suprisingly quiet. The downside is that it's tricky to clean. The lid is fine as you can wash it properly - but the bowl can't be immersed in water to clean it. I used a damp cloth in the end. I recommend it, though - it does what it says and saves an awful lot of time and hard work.

I think this is an excellent grinder. Very well worth the money. It grinde's all the seeds I want to a lovely smooth powder, & the amount it can grind is more than enough for what I need.

Product of very flimsy construction.Bought to grind mostly nuts and seeds. Can only handle tiny amounts at a time i.e 2 tspns and only for very short bursts of grinding. Very time consuming and tedious will probably not use very much and will need to look for an alternative/better product.

Good value product
I was in 2 minds whether to replace my Krups with a Krups or purchase the Lloydron at almost half price. The Lloydtron does its jo but without the power of the Krups. Read more

Lloytron grinder
So far, this grinder has performed well. Gives a nice fine ground coffee for our filter machine. I have only used this for coffee beans so not sure about grinding spices. Read more

This is great
This is a must have, it grinds my coffee beans great. It's a very quite machine the cord winds inside it. Its easy to clean, i would recommend this to anyone
