I bought a rice cooker because a) I am rubbish at cooking rice and b)Nigella Lawson said how great they were and that everyone should have one. Well I chose the Lloytron 1.8 so it was big enough for dinner party use as well as useful for family size cooking and it is excellent. The easiest rice cooking I have ever done and can cook enough for 12 people easily.

works perfectly, is fast, easy to clean and makes great rice for up to 8 persons!
We had some doubts due to some less positive reviews, specially regarding the "mess" with escaping steam. we are using it for 2 weeks now and we must say that if you do things right (which is easy) it just works flawlessly.

Amazon Verified Purchase
The cooker looked good, but when I turned it on to cook two cups of rice the mess caused by liquid spurting out from under the lid was remarkable. I was left with a gloopy pool of starchy liquid on the surface and splatters on the floor. The rice was lovely but the mess was not. I broke the lid on my old one which I had owned for 21 years - it was miles better than this one. I only had the cooker to clean with that - not the kitchen too.
