I am a big fan of Phantom of the Opera, so this was straight on my wants list when I heard it was coming out. The music is wonderful and still fresh. This arrangement breathes a whole new life into the Poto score.
As for the second part, the Woman in White Suite, I am still quite unfamiliar with the Woman in white musical, but found it almost as enjoyable as the Poto Suite. Worth every penny and would recommend it to anyone. Lovely music that takes out of yourself for a while, and gives you the chance to relive the wondeful moments of the shows.

The Phantasia Concerto for Cello and Violin is a beautiful arrangement of the musical themes of poto. It has everything you want to hear and is delivered in a romantic duet between the Phantom (cello) and Christine (violin).
As soon as I saw Julian Lloyd Webber perform this on the Classical Brit awards in May this year I was desperate to get a copy and I have listened to nothing else since!
The music of poto is the tool for all the magic and passion of the story, and this work portrays it so well.
A definate buy to compliment the soundtrack and film for any phan!

This is a CD that is very special to me and I wanted to write something about it, but after reading the previous reviews there isn't much else I can add about this fabulous album, other than, perhaps, you may think this is crossover music. It is not.
It is a very well written, very enjoyable double concerto for violin, cello and orchestra. Whether you are familiar with Phantom of the Opera or not, you will enjoy it. If you are familiar with the musical, you will recognise all the main songs from the musical and you may even find yourself singing along to the music!
The way the 'songs' are arranged for cello and violin and the way they are linked together is fantastic and the pace is just right, it keeps you hooked for the whole half an hour (or just over), from the dramatic opening (which must be exceptionally difficult to play for both the cellist and the violinist!!) to the bitter-sweet ending.
Both Julian Lloyd Webber and Sarah Chang give a flawless performance here and prove the world class musicians they are.
Really hope to be able to hear it performed live again.

Essential listening for any Lloyd Webber of Phantom fan. The music is arranged masterfully and the Chang/Lloyd Webber coalition works perfectly.
