Review

'I couldn't put Lizzy Harrison Loses Control down. Funny, moving, totally gripping, I just wanted to start it all over again the moment I'd finished it.' --Harriet Evans

'The amusing tale of mega-bore Lizzy, who gets thrown together with a notorious love-rat and finds out that cutting loose can actually be pretty fun.' --Heat

'Lizzy Harrison is the perfect anti-heroine - she doesn't own a cat, has no more shoes that the average person and isn't scatty. But when you get under her skin, she's every bit as lovable as some of our favourite chick-lit icons.' --Cosmopolitan

'A frothy, fun and guilty pleasure read' --Stylist

A pleasant read 3 April 2011
Format:Paperback
In this book, author Pippa Wright introduces us to the lovely, Lizzy Harrison. Lizzy likes to think she has everything under control, she doesn't believe herself to be romantic heroine, she owns no more shoes than the average person, and she doesn't have a cat! She has a busy job in PR and feels very in control of her life.

So, when Lulu, Lizzy's best friend questions her need for control, she decides to relax, and ends up being thrown into the arms of her boss's number one client, notorious comedian (and love-rat) Randy Jones........

This book had me giggling in many places. Lizzy is so likeable, and i would really like to see her pop up in future books by Wright. The cramped train scene was very amusing, and so true to life, that you could actually imagine seeing Lizzy on your morning commute to work. Meanwhile Randy Jones reminded me so much of Russell Brand, it was hard to get the image out of my head whilst reading the book.

If you are looking for an easy read, and you like chick-lit, then this is definately the book for you. Take it to the beach, or relax with it this summer. It's worth it!

Lizzie Harrison works for a PR company handling celebrities. One of their biggest clients is comedian and babe magnet - Randy Jones. Lizzie if very much in control of everything including anticipating her boss - Camilla's - every need. Her love life is a desert and her friend Lulu wants her to relax and make changes to her life. Lizzie isn't so sure that's a good idea but finds herself completely out of control when she is asked to act as Randy Jones' fake girlfriend to try and eliminate his bad boy image and replace it with something more wholesome.

Lizzie agrees because it seems like it's the only thing which will save the agency's biggest client from disaster but she cannot tell even Lulu what is really going on. I loved the characters especially Lulu and twin brother Dan and Lizzie. I had a great deal of sympathy with Lizzie because I too like to be in control and found myself wincing in sympathy when things were taken out of her hands. I liked the situations Lizzie found herself in as a result of being Randy's fake girlfriend and I liked the way Randy wasn't portrayed as all bad.

This is a fast paced romp of a book. The writing is assured and the plot never flags. I really enjoyed reading it and I was quite sad when I got to the end. The book could have been shopping, bedroom scenes and celebrities but it was so much better than that. It had all three ingredients but it also had humour and some deeper aspects to it which made it all the more enjoyable.

I bought this kindle book along with others by well known chick-lit authors for my recent holiday, and this one was definitely my favourite!
I don't like reviews that tell you the plot so I'll skip that bit and just say it was a joy to read. It only took me a day so it's quite fast paced, very funny in places and well written. (Sometimes with new authors' kindle books I think they could do with a good editor - this is not one of them).
I don't think the story is realistic, but hey, that wouldn't be a good read would it? It's definitely a pound well spent, a lot more value for money than holiday chick-lit by the more established names.

Entertaining chicklit
Likeable heroine, entertaing storyline and funny enough in places to make me laugh out loud. Yes, you know where it will end but it's a good read getting there.
