Lizzy Bennet's Diary is an absolutely delightful book for anyone who likes Jane Austen's classic. It is not exactly a children's book despite the illustrations (which are sometimes a little childish, but that is Marcia Williams' style), and it is not an adults' book either. It is a lovely illustrated story told as if Elizabeth Bennet had kept a diary, putting little drawings on the pages, dried flowers "stuck" between entries, postcards kept as souvenirs, etc. It is certainly inspired by the original novel, not just the story, but the style too, and it had me laugh on a number of occasions. It's over 100 pages long, and there is more text than pictures, so it is quite a read too, not just a picture book.
