Easy to put on and saves time between bearing services or headset changes. Doesn't fit every single bike though so check first

One headset seal you can install without removing the fork 31 Oct 2013

Helps keep moisture out of your headset lower race if it doesn't have a great seal. It's cheap and does the job.

I needed a headset seal, and these were available, but wish they were a little wider. They suit the purpose but not perfect.
keeps dirt out of lower unsealed headset race 23 Jan 2013

If you use older unsealed headsets, slip one of these over the lower headset race before each ride to keep out the dirt. This keeps the lower headset bearing clean, so you don't have to clean & regrease it (since it won't get dirty). I have multiple bikes so using these reduces my bike maintenance burden immensely. These do stretch out with time, so I take them off after each ride and re-install for each ride. I don't keep them installed on a bike unless it's a daily rider.
Works great for old & new bikes 3 April 2012

My headset cup seals on a 10+ year old mountain bike with threadless fork had swelled to a larger diameter and popped out of the cups, likely due to the chemicals in the bearing grease. The seals were in good shape otherwise. I could not find replacement seals, and didn't want to take apart the headset anyways. So I sectioned the old cup seals to reduce the diameter so they would fit back into the cups. Of course now I had split seals, and they would not stay in the cups without assistance. Enter these elastic seal wraps. They fit very snugly around the headset cups and secure with velcro, following the contours of the headset cups exactly and keeping the cup seals perfectly in place. They do not move at all after install and they do not interfere with steering in any way. I used one each for the upper and lower cup.

I also ordered a set for a brand new hybrid, to help keep the cups seals clean of debris from the get go. Maybe these have gone out of style like leg warmers, but they saved my old MTB for another 10+ years of riding.
