3.0 out of 5 stars Informative but dry 25 April 2002
By A Customer
Format:Paperback
This book is packed full of relevant and up to date information for all those wishing to relocate to New Zealand.

The factual information contained in the book is clearly laid out and easy to understand, as a travel guide it is not particularly useful, although read in tandem with more tourist orientated information it is extremely helpful.

The area where this guide is a bit of a let down is in givng the reader a feel for what a New Zealand lifestyle would actually be like, it is, of course, useful to know what postal services, ferries, schools etc. are available but it would be nice to have more anecdotal evidence from other ex-pats currently living in NZ.

There is not enough guidance and information about which areas in New Zealand are best to consider for relocation purposes, although anyone wishing to make such a major step would be able to glean ideas from other sources.

Overall a good reference guide for those interested in moving to New Zealand, however, it only covers certain aspects. To get a full picture of life in New Zealand, in one volume, this is not the book to buy. It does though make an excellent source of information for those that are prepared to fully investigate all that New Zealand can offer, from a practical point of view, and when used in conjunction with other guide books makes a useful additional source of facts and figures.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Must Have 28 May 2003
Format:Paperback
This book is a must have for anyone wanting information on how to live and work in New Zealand. It is packed full of information that you need to know, from the price of petrol to which volcanoes are active. It is also a very easy book to read with plenty of humour. I cannot recomend this book highly enough it is just a mine of useful information.

2.0 out of 5 stars Living and Working in New Zealand 14 Mar 2004
Format:Paperback
Not the book I thought it would be.
I bought this book along with - the rough guide to New Zealand, as I am planning to live there for the better part of a year. However this particular book contains more information on imagrating for life and starting a fresh. Not what i was needing.
But it does still contain a wealth of usefull information on living in NZ, but has a very dated feel to it. Im sure that there are beter books on the market if you are planning to move out there, the rough guide was the one for me.
2 out of 5 - More for imagrators than long time visitors.
