Great starting point for those considering a move to Britain 20 Feb 2010
By Deborah Verlen - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
The seventh edition of Living in Britain has been updated and contains a wealth of information for those that are considering a move to Britain. Much of the information is available online, but you don't need to spend hours looking for it--the book contains concise summaries of the information you need to know. You can find general information on working--what you need in order to work (permits, visas), where the jobs can be found, how to find a job, salaries and the like.

Most importantly if you are not familiar with living in the Britain, you'll find basic information to help you comfortably get there, stay there and work. If you need a starting point for accommodations, various services (postal, television and the like) as well as transport, health and more.

The author also gives you some ideas for leisure time. Whether you are contemplating living in the country for an extended period of time or just visiting, the book goes way beyond a travel guide and can help you assimilate into the culture.

A good companion guide to this book is: Culture Wise England: The Essential Guide to Culture, Customs & Business Etiquette.
