5.0 out of 5 stars Infectious, amazing, go and buy! 26 Aug 2002
By David
Format:Audio CD
To compare this New Jersey emo band to another would be frankly unfair. Sure to the outsider they may sound like New Found Glory or Blink, but they are in another mould. It is a very rare thing these days to listen to a record with no need to skip the tracks along, but this album deems the forward button useless as hook after hook bind you to the recording. Midtown don't pretend to be anything there not. They are an emo band in the truest sense of the word. They are spellbinding and beautiful and have the art of songwriting all figured out. This review not only accounts for this record but everything they have ever recorded. With all the accolades that have come the way of other bands such as stablemates NFG and Fenix TX it is criminal that Midtown are not the biggest of the bunch. Put simply Midtown are the benchmark, go and fall in love.

4.0 out of 5 stars Decent follow-up to great debut 16 April 2002
By A Customer
Format:Audio CD
Midtown have done it again. They seem to have an easy job of writing the most catchy tunes in the world. 'Become what you hate' and 'Like a movie' are some of the best songs they've ever written. Maturity appears to have struck though as there are more reflective songs on this album that could almost be caaled cheesy if it wasn't for the three part harmonies and great production. Mark Trombino is a legend, anything he touches seems to sound amazing. Check out Jimmy Eat World's albums or Finch 'What it is to Burn' for other examples of the man's genius.
Back to Midtown, they have written a solid album, but following up 'Save the World...' was always going to be a hard task. Shame about the reworkings of the two tracks from the split E.P. with Millencolin- they sounded better before in my opinion, but still great songs. If you like this album check out The Starting Line, Saves the Day, Rufio and One Dollar Short for more wicked bands.

5.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant 9 April 2006
Format:Audio CD
Must be one of the best pop-punk albums ever made. Absolutely essential feel-good anthems about love and life, bursting at the seams with power and meoldy.

A must have album for all pop-punk fans.
