I was going to have my first listen of this cd at home on the evening that it arrived but things happened and I didn't get around to it. So, I put it on in the car the next day whilst travelling to an appointment (on roads I know pretty well). Well I was so gobsmacked I was almost missing turnings, just missing other cars (luckily) and getting more than a little emotional ! This cd is simply sensational, everything about it is perfect. The band are at the very peak of perfection, this coupled with the absolutely superb quality of recording makes it a musical heaven for any rock fan and muliply this by 100 for any RT fan. His playing throughout is completely awesome, if you want to hear someone that has total mastery of an instrument, this is one staggeringly luminescent example. His playing and inventiveness on the core songs (Day of the Eagle, Bridge of Sighs, Daydream, Too Rolling Stoned and Little bit of Sympathy ) hit you right where it counts, heart and soul. Let's not forget the rest of the band who complement the man so well, Dave Bronze and Pete Thompson are the best rhythm section RT will ever work with - enough said, listen for yourself ! Davey Pattison has now got one foot firmly onto the pedastal occupied by the late and very great James Dewar. He puts his heart and soul into these songs and boy do they sound good - it's the icing on the cake of this fabulously together band. As a package, it transcends the 1975 Live album - generally regarded as the previous title holder. The band are touring the UK at the moment on the secong leg, this recording is from the first leg earlier this year. I really hope one of the second leg shows is recorded as the new set list contains some of my big favourites - Roads to Freedom, Fine Day, Hannah and Victims of the Fury. Oh and yes I will be entering rock nirvana for the second time this year - there's nothing like being there on the night to witness this planets most ludicrously unsung guitar legend !

5.0 out of 5 stars Finally! - his best Live effort..... 10 Jan 2007
Format:Audio CD
Robin Trower has always fascinated me as an innovator unfairly compared to Hendrix as the result of a flippant comment he made during an interview in the 70's. I was skeptical of this album after hearing so may Live recording releases over the years - all with varying degrees of quality and none capturing the true essence of this magnificently underrated guitarist - Until now! The quality of recording, production, his guitar sound, vocal delivery, and sheer intensity of his playing shine through on this album. Finally I have something that can grace my collection alongside Bridge of Sighs. Guitarists of any age should have this in their collection as a benchmark for when they turn 60!

Bravo Robin Trower!

5.0 out of 5 stars The return of the Cosmic sound of Trower 5 Jan 2006
Format:Audio CD
A real return to form for Robin Trower, full of the classic swampy Stratocaster + Wah + Univibe sound that all fans know and love from the early stuff in the early-mid 70's, on a par with the first six LP's. I saw him a few times last year (for the first time too) and he's excellent live. A 2006 tour is being lined up already for the UK so go and see a legend at work in March/April.

5.0 out of 5 stars The old dog has learnt all the tricks! 17 Aug 2006
By JimR
Format:Audio CD
I saw Mr. Trower at The Astor in Deal - a sweaty, intimate venue - and I was completely blown away by this man's star quality. Sounded like every note he played was ripped from his heart! It staggers belief that this man - so influencial, so talented, so passionate, so damned exhilarating - can still be so underrated. Its a crime! Buy this album and see what I am mean.
