Product Description

Tired? Grumpy? Feeling insecure? Then what you really need to feel better about yourself is… a supermodel coming to live next door.

Tanya knows that in life there will be depressingly beautiful super-beings crawling around somewhere. But why do they have to become her neighbour? The problem is, stunning newcomer Alice (very famous in Japan) seems to have taken firmly against Tanya. Which means that when Tanya gets her first assignment in her dream job as a stylist, she’s horrified to be working with Alice. But not as horrified as she would be if she knew what Alice really had in store for her…

Extrememly funny! 7 Dec 2008

I'm a huge Mackle fan as you can see from my other reviews and as soon as I saw this in my local Hughes & Hughes bookshop I snapped it up and rushed home, to curl up on a freezing cold week night to read it. I cheered up an otherwise gloomy week as I laughed from cover to cover. It's a really original story about a girl and her boyfriend who move intogether only to realise that the boyfriend's childhood sweetheart happens to be living next door. Whatsmore she is stunning, very much single and searching AND she's a complete BIATCH!!!! Having endured the odd neighbour from hell in my time (eh...who hasn't??) I thank my lucky stars that I now live in a detached house in the countryside with no creepy neighbours spying on me over the wall when I least expect it. Truly unputtownable!!!

reading the blog on the back of the book, this one sounded interesting. but alas how disappointed was i. after 200 odd pages is only when Tanya and Alice become neighbours and interesting as the 200 pages were it didnt leave alot of time for the bitchy stuff to happen and when it did wasnt very bitchy. and was all tied up in a matter of few pages which were very unrealistic. were the book was nearly finished was where it should have started and then it may have worked better. as didnt enjoy the previous book by the author i read not very surprised at my reaction to this effort

I'm sorry but this is the worst chick-flick book I have ever had the misfortune to read. Tanya is a sorry excuse for character she spends half the time moping around wondering why her boyfriend fancies the beautiful model next door and the rest just being annoying. She lets Alice take a hold of her life but instead of making a stand she just sits there and lets it happen. She's 28 and still living at home, makes constant remarks about hating going out but does it anyway and is dull as dish water.

At least Alice has a backbone! Unfortunately all the stunts she pulls are so cliche...sending flowers to Tracey under a different man's name...please couldn't the author thought of something else?

This book is so boring and so predictable I wouldn't even recommend it for a long train ride.
If you want engaging but enjoyable chick flick try 'The Temp' by Serena Mackesy, you wont be disappointed!
