I found this book to be more useful than I expected. It has lots of good suggestions how to improve the way light is used internally acccompanied with pictures from homes in Scandinavia and the UK. What I particularly liked were other general design hints and tips included inside such as hanging a collection of pictures around a common theme and which ones are more likely to draw the eye in etc. I would recommend this to anyone who is looking for ways to maximise the effects of natural light in their interiors.

This is the book I've been looking for, for a long time. If you want loads of pictures of Gustavian and Swedish-inspired interiors, whether traditional or modern, this is the book to choose - it has page after page of excellent colour photographs, with informative captions and almost none of the usual guff you get in such books. It is not a how-to, but it is very easy to copy or riff on the interiors shown. Since buying it, I have painted most of our living-room furniture distressed white or pale grey, and the difference it has made to light levels is astonishing. Well worth the price of purchase.

This is a beautiful "coffee table book" and it has photographs and setting pictures, which are lovely to to look at. Very Swedish. I would have liked more specific practical information, for example how to cope with strong sun light in a room, the heat and how to avoid fading and maybe more about how to create the look and where to buy from in the UK.
