Book Description

22 Jun 2000 Thoroughbred (Book 39)
Can Christina measure up?

Ever since Christina Reese won her very first race on Wonder's Star, she's been feeling pressure to live up to her mother's reputation as a great jockey. The racing press is full of articles with headlines such as "Like Mother, Like Daughter!" and "Winning Races Must Be in the Genes!"

But after a disappointing finish in her next race, Christina decides there is no way she can meet such high expectations--she'll never be as good as Ashleigh. After only two starts, will Christina give up racing forever?

Read thoroughbred and experience the powerful bondbetween a determined girl and a very special colt if youlove horses, then you'll love these books!

4.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Book! 1 Feb 2000
By A Customer - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
This is a very great book! It includes all the trills, spills, ups and downs for Christina, Melanie, Ashleigh, Whitebrook and of course their rivals, Townsend Acres. It has the hard truth about racing and horses and sets a good picture in your mind! Definitly one of the best books in the series!

5.0 out of 5 stars The Thoroughbred series is still great! 21 Oct 2001
By An 11-year old reader - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
I know everyone is saying that from book 24+ the series turns to jumping. But, as you can see from this book that is not true because Christina gives up eventing to become a jockey! Everyone is also saying that Cindy is excluded from the series! She is not as she comes back in book 43! This series has not got worse! Living Legend is one of my favourite books about Wonder's Star, the beautiful chestnut colt who Christina will ride to victory!

5.0 out of 5 stars Very good 30 Jan 2000
By A Customer - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
I would say this book is the best in a while because hnot everything goes right. I mean Christina does not go out on the track and win every single race that comes her way, become the top jockey in all of Kentucky, and go on to win the Triple Crown with Star(yet). I highly recomend this book becasue there are some mojor improvemaent over the last books.
