Product Description

MY WEEKLY

'A fun read set in a glorious landscape' --This text refers to the Paperback edition.

From the Back Cover

'Sublimely addictive'

Marian Keyes

We've all dreamt about it, but for Cleo Dowling the dream becomes a reality. Cleo comes into money and moves to Kilrowan in the West of Ireland to write a novel. But what happens when she loses the plot and becomes obsessed with her sexy neighbour?

Dannie Moore's love life has always been complicated...but when film director Jethro Palmer chooses Kilrowan as the location for a blockbuster movie, the effect on her life is cataclysmic.

Deirdre O'Dare leaves her husband Rory in LA to accompany her friend, movie star Eva Lavery, to Kilrowan. But although Deirdre is writing Eva's biography, it would appear that the actress is not telling the truth, the whole truth...

This rollercoaster ride of a book by the bestselling author of The Blue Hour and A Perfect Life is jam-packed with incident, humour, romance - and tragedy.

Fabulous... 10 Nov 2004
Format:Hardcover
Thoroughly enjoyed this book, emotional, interesting and fabulously sexy! The best thing about Kate Thompson's work is that she never seems to just sit back and assume we'll be interested. Each new book is slightly better than the last, I feel, or maybe thats because I enjoy the return of her great characters so much. They're all back in this one plus new ones that are just as easy to adore! Be prepared for the end, if you've read all the books up to date it's a real tear jerker. I shall say no more, read it and fall in love. Am eagerly awaiting the next installation from Ms Thompson.

Have just finished this book and my eyes are in bits!! If like me you are a huge Kate Thompson fan and just thought she could never write anything as good as 'The Blue Hour',then be prepared to be amazed. Living the Dream brings back favourite characters such as, Rory and Deirdre, David and Eva, Dannie and Jethro and even Maddie and Daniel. I fell in love with all of these characters the first time they appeared and it's fab catching up on what has been happening in their lives. As always Kate introduces develishy sexy new males and this book is no exception with introduction of Pablo MacBride......oh My God!! If you are looking for pure escapism, copious amounts of sex and a right good greet(2 boxes of hankies a minimum), this is the book for you. Although you will need cold tea bags for your eyes by the time you have finished you will still be left with the warm fuzzy feeling that a Kate Thompson novel always gives. If I could give it 6 stars I would!

I have just finished reading Kate Thompson's new novel 'Living the Dream' and I have one word for you - WOW!! Those of you who have previously been introduced to the genius that is Thompson will be delighted to welcome back some familiar faces to this, Kate's seventh title whilst those of you who have yet to encounter her brilliance will be calling for the back catalogue. The novel mixes wit with sorrow, wisdom with grief and lust with. . .well. . .sex! The characters fly off the pages and straight into your hearts whilst the lessons they learn along the way ensure that they stay there. Kate Thompson effortlessly takes you to her own little world, were women are beautiful , men are sexy and you bump into Oscar winning actresses or reclusive painters on every corner - is Ireland really like this I wonder, and if so how soon can I get a flight out?! The beauty of Kate Thompson's writing however lies in the realism she brings to her characters and the moving and poignant messages she presents through them - they have flaws, they encounter tragedy, they survive. There is a twist at the end of this book which will have you reaching for the tissues but rest assured this is probably Kate's best yet, it is a genuine pleasure to read and will make you too want to go out and live the dream - whatever that dream may be.
