Book Description

18 Dec 2008 0281058865 978-0281058860
This accessible introduction to Christian worldview explores the question of how Christians can live faithfully at the crossroads of the story of Scripture and postmodern culture.Ideal for undergraduate students and laypeople, "Living at the Crossroads" opens with a brief summary of the biblical story and the most fundamental beliefs of Scripture. The authors then tell the story of Western culture from the classical period to postmodernity, before providing an analysis of how Christians live in the tension that exists at the intersection of the biblical and cultural stories. They proceed to tease out the implications for key areas of life, such as education, scholarship, economics, politics, and church. The result is a deeply thoughtful yet approachable text that draws on the rich tradition of reformational thinking but contextualizes it to a postmodern setting for a contemporary audience.

5.0 out of 5 stars An excellent introduction 5 Dec 2010
By pupkye
Format:Paperback
This is an excellent book on Christian worldview. If you just want to read one book on the subject so that you can understand what it is all about then this could well be the book for you. I had never read a book specifically about Christian worldview before but I had come across many of the ideas expressed in the book. Here, they were neatly pulled together in a clear and coherent fashion. I found the book easy to read and the arguments easy to follow. I also liked the pastoral note at the end which was refreshing to find in what is essentially a theological discussion.

5.0 out of 5 stars A call to action 23 Aug 2010
Format:Paperback
James 2 is a call to action. Living at the Crossroads helps us consider for a moment what kind of action Christians might take in the world. We all have a worldview formed of a range of experiences and ideas. But do we fully understand our worldview? Living at the Crossroads explains the importance of doing so and stepping out into the world by faith and with purpose.

5.0 out of 5 stars An excellent introduction to CWV 21 Feb 2013

Christian World View is an important concept and Craig and Michael offer a sensible and academic overview of the subject.
This book is easily readable yet very engaging with its detail and comments. These authors are well known to the theological community and therefore have to be listened to.
All the way through this book you will stop and ask yourself questions, you will re-read paragraphs and you will meditate on the contents; this seems to be a healthy result of reading a good book to me!
I would like to see a follow-up volume by the same authors.
This book was a good investment and I recommend it to anyone trying to develop or understand their own conceptual framework of life the universe and everything!
