In this commentary, Sangharakshita counsels against an over-narrow interpretation of mindfulness as being simply about developing a focused attention on the present moment.

5.0 out of 5 stars A useful and accessible book 17 Mar 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
I'm glad that a few of Sangharakshita's vast amount of books have been put onto Kindle. It means I can have them wherever I go and read them again and again. He knows what he's talking about and makes the Dharma (Buddhism) accessible to anybody who is interested, even if not a practising Buddhist. But if you are a practising Buddhist then there is a lot of helpful advice and ideas to follow through in understanding and in practise. This one has some real gems.

5.0 out of 5 stars An excellent introduction to Buddhist thought and hermenuetical treatment of the Satipatthana Sutta 27 Dec 2012
By BuoBuo - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
I can't recommend this book enough. Along with Zen Mind, Beginner's Mind, and The Heart of the Buddha's Teachings, Living with Awareness constitutes the core of the books on Buddhism that have given my practice and really my life a clear direction. There is an audiobook floating around online as well that is really enjoyable listening. 5/5.
