Barbara is so under-rated, and from her lovely ballads to her stomping Motown songs, Barbara was a versatile artiste.
Barbara's Anthology CD is also worth listening to, as it contains so much of her Motown output, and this album "The Livin' End" also demonstrates Barbara's unique talent.

The Livin' End 7 Mar. 2006
By Edmund Arredondo - Published on Amazon.com
That's a great title for this CD because it is The Livin' End. It's Barbara at her best swinging with a big band. I had the LPand naerly wore it out. I'm so happy to finally have it on a CD. I've already ordered I Enjoy being A Girl. These two Warner Bros. LP's started my whole thing with Ms. McNair. If you like good music which is so rare to come by these days, do yourself a favor and buy bot these CD's. You won't regret it.

Gone, but will never be forgotten... 10 Feb. 2007
By B. J. Lane - Published on Amazon.com
Miss Barbara McNair was truly one of the finest black female singers in business during the 1960s, and this album (with magnificent big-band backing by Ralph Carmichael) is a gem! The previous reviewer was right on the money - plus Barbara gave any song she sang (including all of this album's selections) her unique touch.

I'm very sad to hear that the remarkable voice of this ground-breaking artist has been silenced by cancer, but VERY thankful to the folks at Collectibles Music that both of her Warner Bros. albums (which I own) are available on CD.

The 60's were blessed by the great voice of this artist ! So sorry to hear of her demise due to cancer. Heaven gained yet another great person !!
