4.0 out of 5 stars Live and Raw 13 Mar 2000
By A Customer
Format:Audio CD
This album shows the talent of Ash as a band. The album was recorded in Australia in October 1996, and so includes most of their best known songs, Oh Yeah, Girl From Mars and Kung Fu. The songs are all played at a faster pace than they would be found on their studio albums, and with a great deal of energy. This album is a must for fans of their music.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very different Ash. 9 Feb 2002
Format:Audio CD
More raucous than their studio stuff, this CD gives a taste of the band in uncorked live perfomance mode. Harder, more powerful, all about the guitar--eminently worthy of their Belfast punk heritage. Repeat often at high volume.

5.0 out of 5 stars No Substitute for Live Music 26 July 2002
Format:Audio CD
Live at The Wireless is a superb album by a quite young and vibrant Ash who were still performing as three men. However, some argue that this was when they were at their best (I beg to differ, I think that they have been consistently quality), and this quick hard session of some of Ash's great songs is probably one of the best live sets I have heard them do.
The highlights of the album for me are 'T-Rex', which is a B-side track from the single 'Oh Yeah', 'Kung Fu' and 'Petrol'. There is a lot of ad libbing inbetween songs, like when Tim thought he forgot a verse in 'What Deaner Was Talking About' and they have two attemtps to get the beginning of 'Goldfinger' right!
This really is a good purchase if your a fan of raw, live music. I think this should be a new trend for bands because listening to pre-recorded songs is never the same as listening to a live set.
For instance, I reckon that the live version of 'Petrol' on this album blows the original single out of the water. The same goes for their versions of 'T-Rex' and 'Kung Fu'.
What more can I say? Buy it or miss out!
