An excellent treasure trove of rare BBC Archive Material that probably has been restored
from BBC Transcription Discs stored in some dark corner of the Organisation!!!
Its evident from these recordings that indeed they were a very hard working Beat Combo that
could perform competent cover versions of current chart hits by other artists as well as their
own hit material.
Of particular interest is a session where they do a version of Twist And Shout where they do
an arrangement identical to the Beatles slower tempo!!!
I personally always thought Brian and the Trems hit single version in 1963 was taken at a
rather fast pace compared to the Isley Bros original which is of course more slow and soulful.
One track Whos That, which Brian himself thinks is written by the late arranger IVOR RAYMONDE
is actually credited to MANSTON on its original issue on the groups 1965 album ITS ABOUT TIME.
MANSTON I think is a composing name used by MARTY WILDE in the 60s and Marty himself recorded
a version on Decca Records in 1965 as the WILDE THREE. Perhaps someone else can confirm this fact?
Overall this set will be much enjoyed by all British Beat Boom enthusiasts!!!

Another live recording with interviews to plug the ever shrinking number of gaps.
Nostalgia lives.
Good to hear the band play numbers other than those released as recordings.
Excellent all round. Item/packing/service. Will buy again.
Thank you.
