Great Live Music, 21 Nov 2001
This review is from: Live: The Way We Walk: Volume One: The Shorts (Audio CD)
Most of these songs are taken from the "Dance" tour in 1992. The music on the live albums always sounds better than the studio recordings, mainly because of the atmosphere you get. The tracks that really sound better than the studio recordings are "Land of Confusion", "I Can't Dance", "Mama" and "Tonight, Tonight, Tonight" I would reccomend this album even if you have all the studio recordings (I do!).

Nothing beats Genesis live!, 26 Jan 2006
This review is from: Live: The Way We Walk: Volume One: The Shorts (Audio CD)
I originally bought this album as a pirated MC in 1993 in Poland on a scout trip (I'm a geek, I know), and at the age of 13 this was my first introduction to Genesis, and needless to say I loved it. I have later bought a Genesis Greatest Hits cd, but I never ever listen to it, instead I listen this. This cd is all about live atmosphere, and how much of an impact the crowd can have on the music.....and the music on the crowd. Its pure emotion both ways, and even people who normally don't like Genesis (like myself) will like this cd, and for everyone the least bit into Genesis this cd is a must-have.

A great live album, 1 Mar 2011
This is volume one of a two part live collection. It was released in 1992 or thereabouts and features the more well known/later Genesis tracks. As a cautionary note the 'F' word is used on the 'Invisible Touch' track, for those opposed to bad language. This is a great live album and has been played extensively, as have all my Genesis albums. It should be purchased along with Volume 2 'The Longs'. Volume 2 as indicated, features the more longer tracks and instrumentals along with some older material, that will appeal to the more seasoned Genesis fan. Track listings for Volume One 'The Shorts' are;
1. Land Of Confusion
2. No Son Of Mine
3. Jesus He Knows Me
4. Throwing It All Away
5. I Can't Dance
6. Mama
7. Hold On My Heart
8. That's All
9. In Too Deep
10. Tonight, Tonight, Tonight
11. Invisible Touch
