I guess most people who buy this will know exactly what they're getting. I bought "Live at Treorchy" many years ago on vinyl, and, no longer being in possession of a gramophonic device, recently bought the CD. A brilliant mix of LOL humour and beautiful, emotional songs. My wife and I still, to this day, use bits of Max's repertoire in everyday conversation. Even listening to the recording for the 5000'th time, it's still funny! Sad maybe, but true. "Doctors Papers" was new to me, and is also great fun, but "Treorchy" is a masterpiece - I know it by heart.
If you think you like Max, and you don't have these, get them - now!! They will do you more good than any doctor's prescription.

I had not heard these recordings since the late eighties, before I left Wales to live in Australia.
I must say that I was not disappointed, the memories came flooding back and I found I was singing along before I knew it.
Younger people may not get some of the humor, but the songs are still poetry set to music.
A must have for all Welsh rugby fans and folk music fans alike.

I love Max Boyce The cd replaced my old LPs. I was born in Treorchy, Max's singing his humour and his good clean fun approach to our home rugby tea is still amazing.

Brilliant, It was like stepping back in time, the humour hasn't dated at all. It still has me laughing like a good un! It should be top of the charts x

Listening to this wonderful double album on a recent return trip to London, had both my wife and myself near to tears as we played this awesome CD in the car as the laughter and memories came back from long ago when they were first released.
Max is alone IMHO as comic, singer and general entertainer and no other person that I know can bring out these emotions! The 'Bard of Wales' rides with ease on his shoulders and I can honestly say with hand on heart "Max we Love you"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Max Boyce a legend from Wales I used to listen to this on record as a child .My mother was from South wales and so hearing of places I heard as a child was fantastic .Good songs very good humour and a good cd to help me feel better .tHe song Duw its hard was particularly poignant as all my grand mothers brothers worked down Gelli pit in the 1920 s

After many years without the means to play vinyl anymore, I found this 2 cd set and decided its a must have, just to re-live the good ole days!!
Not in the least disappointed, Max still has the ability to make me smile with his wicked sense of humour, even the poor fades present on the original vinyl are not edited out! Brilliant.
