Product Description

Nick Pynn is a maverick electro-acoustic player tunewriter . In these live performances he exhibits original compositions on mandocello, fiddle, viola, acoustic guitar, ukulele, cocolele, lap dulcimer, chimes, wine glasses, theremin and typewriter whilst live-looping and bass-pedalling with his feet. The Queen Elizabeth Hall show (included here in its entirety) was recorded on 30th May 2011 by Robert Cooper and was part of Stewart Lee s Austerity Binge. In contrast to the majesty of the QEH, the Edinburgh Fringe recordings come from an intimate 23 seater in the heart of the city s New Town. The Edinburgh recordings are compiled from the run of the 2009/ 2010 nights, with one extra performance recorded at the Komedia, Brighton. Nick Pynn is a seasoned performer at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, having performed his original one-man shows there for the past 14 years. He has also worked as a multi-instrumentalist with many musicians and comedians over the years, including Stewart Lee, Arthur Brown, Boothby Graffoe, B*Witched, Steve Harley, Mike Heron (Incredible String Band), Beverley Martyn, Kate Daisy Grant, Otis Lee Crenshaw (Rich Hall) and Omid Djalili. Nick also plays with Stomp s Lost and Found Orchestra . Nick s past awards include Edinburgh s Spirit of the Fringe Award, Brighton s Star of the Festival award and he was co-winner of the Three Weeks Editor s Award with Jane Bom-Bane.
