Very Good! 21 Mar 2000
By A Customer
Format:VHS Tape
This video shows footage of the concert in Rio. A-Ha perform their most famous hits including Take On Me, and there are interviews with the band members. It is a shame that the video is not long enough.

Right from start with 'The Sun Always Shines On TV' to the end with 'Take On Me' this is a rocky experience. The track listing is perfect; 'The Sun...' is a perfect starter with it's exciting beginning. I also think that the dircetor, Lauren Waaktaar-Savoy helps making this video to a almost religous experince for a intelligent a-ha fan. I really felt pleased after watching this video and I think that the highlights are 'The Sun Always...', 'Cry Wolf', 'Touchy!', 'Early Morning' and of course the perfect ending with 'Take On Me'. It's smart of Waaktaar-Savoy to show the dancing couple to the final song.

Right now I just hope that the 'Homecoming: Live in Valhall' video/DVD will be just as satisfying!

A-ha at their finest 29 Oct 2010
By Elspeth
Format:VHS Tape
I disagree with the above reviews: I liked the more creative visual style. This is A-ha at their finest. Gone are the poppy synthy sounds of the previous decade, and in with their pre break up mature sound - edgy guitars and more accoustic and expressive. This featires their East of The Sun album and earlier, in their style of that time (despite being the year of Memorial Beach, they don't play any of its songs live). This is the best rendition of Scoundrel Days - a soaring electric guitar solo and Hammond organ backing. I am sorry that the tape isn't longer and that it is not available on DVD - after 12 years, my video's wearing up.
