Superb recording of Loreena Live,
By A Customer
This review is from: Live in Paris & Toronto (Audio CD)
Having seen two of the gigs on the European tour, I can highly recommend this as a recording which does capture the atmosphere. The band are very tight, individually talented but playing as a real unit. As usual Loreena,s voice is perfection. No new material. Music from the "Book of Secrets "and "The Visit" feature. Excellent.

I was first drawn to Loreena's work at the suggestion of a fellow Enya fan who suggested that I may like her work. However, there is no real similarity in the two singers' styles.I've since become a huge Loreena fan and do not hesitate to recommend her music to people. I must admit that I prefer her more recent material - a great deal of which is highlighted on this album. This album is always essential listening for me if I want to relax and always travels with me on holiday. The music is so beautifully constructed and Loreena's voice is genuinely haunting. This serves as a fabulous showcase for a unique talent.

Live & Sublime!,

This review is from: LIVE IN PARIS & TORONTO (Audio CD)
The musicianship & production on this double album is in the demonstration bracket. Given how exquisitely assembled Loreena's studio albums tend to be (with very high production values) , I was initially fearful that there might be a reduction in the crystalline quality of the songs, but they, and their arrangements, comes across as clear as a bell, and with a similar lustrous magic to the studio pieces. So why not stick to the studio albums I hear you ask? Simply this: the live performance gives an added air of excitement and expectation, and the performances rise to the challenge, so that the music actually seems to open out from its studio confines, becoming more impressive as it does so, fuelled by the electricity of live performance. There seems to be space for the arrangements, and individual instruments, and a larger, more airy canvas to allow the music to shimmer in its lustrous beauty. No point in selecting individual tracks: it's all quality here. Join Loreena for an intimate concert in the comfort of your own home, but revel in the open space through which these glorious melodies walk.
