Product Description

The 14 track CD features selections from concerts that Mary played between 1995 to 2002. The sound reproduction and the performances are nothing short of astoundingly good. This showcases Mary and her band performing the material that established her reputation as a wonderful vocal interpreter. The DVD is in three segments, comprising a 55 minute documentary "Still Believing" followed by a 12 song performance "Live at The Olympia" ending with bonus footage from The Olympia, a song from the acclaimed TV series "Bringing It All Back Home" the original video "No Frontiers" and 2 a cappella songs by The Black Family. A must for all fans or a wonderful introduction to this great talent. --This text refers to an alternate Audio CD edition.

It is amazing that it has taken so long for Mary Black to release a live album because, as anyone who has seen her live will tellyou, she is quite magnificent on stage. The CD of this package is a good collection of very recent live recordings, most from her last UK tour in 2002. There is alovely version of 'The poison Tree', available in a different version on the last Woman's Heart album but the highlight for me is the brilliant 'Ellis Island' with its fantastic instrumental which leads into 'Spanish Lady' and out again to Pat Crowley's great piano finale. Anyone who saw that 2002 tour and was blown away by the 15 minutes of this will have a permanent reminder of its brilliance. But there is more than the CD. The DVD contains a concert in Dublin from the same tour, extra materials and the extremely enjoyable documentary, 'Still Believing'. This looks at Mary's career, her life out of the limelight etc.
The whole package is lovingly put together and is amazing value for money. Any Mary Black fan will treasure this for ever and if you are not a great fan, buy it and you probably will be.

This was on my wish list for quite some time until I eventually ordered it.
Should definitely have done it earlier.
This is handmade music and songs interpreted by a great singer somewhere between folk, pop and even a little bit jazz.
All songs are presented a little bit in the "unplugged" style, which I like.
Mary's voice is really something special and I like the athmosphere she creates during her concerts.
No gimmicks, no light show - just she and her voice and the musicians.
Listening to her at the end of the day or during long car drives is very pleasing and relaxing.
I am little bit confused about the set list of songs on the DVD - actually they are split into three different sections, but that's only a minor point.

What is intersting and good is that there big differences between the song list on the cd and on the dvd, so you get a lot of Mary's music to hear.

As I said I should have bought this cd/dvd-set earlier.

Hope to hear from Mary again soon with a new CD.

The DVD arrived quickly.
Excellent insight into Mary Black and her music on the DVD. Contains both music CD and a well presented DVD.
I've been a fan of hers for many years. I think she is one of the most accomplished singers in the music business.
Well worth buying.
