Impressive and lenghty show for the release of the Exile album in 97.The incredible Richard Beasley's LIVE drumming adds life and variation to the more hypnotic and sedate studio versions of the songs in Sacrifice and Exile. Classics and singles are reworked in the full-on industrial style that were to be later embraced in full in ¨Pure ¨ ,his next album. The performance as a whole is energetic and magnificent.
The sound,on the other hand,is not good as one would expect from a 1997 Numan record. The midrange is muffled and subdued;the first 7 tracks are hopeless, with almost inaudible keyboards, vocals and guitars. From that point on, it can be eq'd OK but just that. Some of the songs even have great sound but the sound is recorded VERY low and
changes a lot from one song to another making it an audiophile's nightmare.GIG - 5 STARS / SOUND - 3 STARS = 4 STARS
