Jesse Winchester is here on sparkling form, losing his way on only Nothing But a Breeze and Defying Gravity. Nothing else sounds like a poor rendition and nothing sounds like going through the motions other than Let The Rough Side Drag, which is pretty throwaway whatever Jesse does. Of the rest, Twigs and Seeds sounds wittier on the studio version, and I'm not sure yet about Jambalaya. Every other track adds another dimension to the originals. It's certainly a pity that Jesse doesn't get paid for this album put out without his permission, but if it's the music that counts above all, here is a live album definitely worth having. The sound is also excellent.
